In ancient times, Sri Lanka was known by a variety of names: ancient Greek geographers called it Taprobane and Arabs referred to it as Serendib (the origin of the word "serendipity"). Ceilão was the name given to Sri Lanka by the Portuguese when they arrived on the island in 1505, which was translated into English as Ceylon. After the English gave up their occupation of the island in 1948 it became knows as it is today.

The Democratic Socialist Republic Of Sri Lanka.

This magical mysterious island is often sited as one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Famed for its fine tea its gold silver and gem stones its colorful landscapes and its many reef-protected beaches.

Over the last decade we have been developing Surf Camp Sri Lanka in a small village, Ahangama about 125km south of Colombo. For 5 months we stay at a local guesthouse situated directly in front of the beach, the venue for surf camp Sri Lanka. We invite you to come and sample the many wonders this awesome country has to offer with us.

We start in November through until the end of March, the best times for surfing in the south. We take small groups, max 15 people. Beginners and experienced are welcome.

Waves vary from fun beach breaks to reef breaks and everything in between; all within a stones throw from your bedroom window!!

The water is warm so no wet suit required. The weather and climate are best described as tropical!

Please take some time and look over the videos and photographs of the past few years.

We are taking bookings now for this year.

Drop us a line if you have any questions about availability.
